Pakistan power-hitter Fakhar Zaman said left-arm speedster Mohammad Amir is “Mr. Perfect” as he can bowl in any situation and “will play with the batter’s mind”.
Amir came out of retirement to represent Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he took seven wickets in four matches at an average of 10.28.
Despite having retired from international cricket again, Zaman noted that the 32-year-old wicket-taker is a “very intelligent bowler”.
Amir recently played alongside Zaman for the Desert Vipers in the International League T20 (ILT20) and was the joint fourth-highest wicket-taker with 14 wickets in 11 games at an average of 23.14.
“He’s a very, very intelligent bowler. He plays with your mind. He will play with the batter’s mind. He uses his mind, uses his brain. He has so much experience. He is such a perfect bowler. A team needs a guy like him who can bowl in the [powerplay], he can bowl in the middle overs, he can bowl at the end, so he is Mr. Perfect for the team,” Zaman said in a video posted by the Vipers on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Zaman made his international comeback in Pakistan’s ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
In three matches, he amassed 135 runs, which included a top score of 84, at an average of 45 and a strike-rate of 120.53.
He was then involved in the 2025 Champions Trophy and struck 24 runs in the opening game against New Zealand
However, Zaman suffered an oblique injury during the match and missed the remainder of the tournament.
Pakistan lost to New Zealand and India, which brought their Champions Trophy campaign to an end as they were eliminated in the group stage.
The men in green’s last game against Bangladesh was washed out.
