Pakistan limited overs captain Mohammad Rizwan said he told the pace duo of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah to get ready for the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, along with the 2025 Champions Trophy.
Afridi and Naseem were both left out of Pakistan’s squad for the recent two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan, which ended as a 1-1 draw.
In that time, Rizwan hopes both of them have been making the necessary preparations for the upcoming white-ball matches.
“We have told them to get ready for white-ball cricket coming up,” the 32-year-old was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In the two-Test series against the West Indies, Rizwan was Pakistan’s highest run-scorer with 147 runs, which included a top score of 71, at an average of 36.75.
The ODI tri-series will be held from February 8 to 14, while the Champions Trophy will take place from February 19 to March 9.
