Sajid Khan: “I did not see any genuine off-spinner in the PSL teams. That is why there is a lack of off-spinners. In Pakistan, here our teams mostly carry a batter who can bowl part-time off-spin”

Test spinner Sajid Khan has noticed that both the national team and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises lack proper off-spinners.
He noted that since these types of bowlers are not given a chance, “there is a lack of off-spinners” in the country.
Sajid is an off-spinner himself and has been highly successful in Test cricket, where he has taken 59 wickets in 12 matches, which includes four five-wicket hauls, at an average of 27.28.
Recently, the 31-year-old featured in Pakistan’s two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan and ended up claiming 15 wickets, which included a five-for, at an average of 17.
Despite his performances in the longest format, Sajid is not part of any team for the PSL 10, which is scheduled to take place from April 10 to May 25.
Additionally, he was not selected in Pakistan’s team for the ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be played from February 19 to March 9.
“Everyone wants to play in the leagues and also represent Pakistan in all formats. I did not see any genuine off-spinner in the PSL teams. That is why there is a lack of off-spinners. In Pakistan, here our teams mostly carry a batter who can bowl part-time off-spin. Teams should at least carry a genuine off-spinner if not play them,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
