Jayden Seales: “I figured Babar Azam was watching my hand a bit. So I tried to deceive him and it worked”

West Indies pace bowler Jayden Seales has revealed that he successfully managed to deceive Pakistan batsman Babar Azam during the recent two-Test series in Multan.

Seales only featured in the 1st Test, but got Azam out in the 1st innings.

Explaining how he dismissed the star batsman, the 23-year-old noted that Azam seemed to be “watching my hand a bit”. As a result, he attempted to trick the 30-year-old and it ended up working.

“I figured Babar Azam was watching my hand a bit. So I tried to deceive him and it worked,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Azam failed to have much of an impact in the two-Test series against the West Indies as he was limited to 45 runs at an average of 11.25.

Next up for him will be Pakistan’s ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be held from February 19 to March 9.
