Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir has admitted that he would love to open the bowling with India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

Bumrah has been lethally effective across all three formats and was recently in action in the five-Test series India played against Australia.

In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the 31-year-old was unstoppable as he finished with 32 wickets, which included three five-wicket hauls, at a jaw-dropping average of 13.06.

Considering how deadly Bumrah was throughout the series, Amir conceded that he would love to form a bowling partnership with the Ahmedabad native.

“I would love to open the bowling with Jasprit Bumrah and play in the same team as him. He’s world-class,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Pakistan team recently toured South Africa and lost the T20I series 2-0 before bouncing back to claim a 3-0 victory in the ODIs.

As for the two-Test series, the men in green were beaten 2-0.

After this, Pakistan faced the West Indies in a two-Test series in Multan, which ended up finishing as a 1-1 draw.

Pakistan will now play an ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa before going on to take part in the Champions Trophy, which will be held from February 19 to March 9.
