Daryl Mitchell: “Really excited to have Shaheen and Haris Rauf on my team instead of having to face them in the games, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they do best”

New Zealand batting all-rounder Daryl Mitchell has admitted he is glad he won’t have to face Pakistan fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf in the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
This comes after Mitchell was drafted by the Lahore Qalandars for PSL 10, which is the same team Afridi and Rauf play for.
The 33-year-old admitted he is excited for the upcoming PSL season, which is scheduled to be held from April 10 to May 25, and can’t wait to see the pace duo taking lots of wickets throughout the tournament.
“Really excited to have Shaheen and Haris Rauf on my team instead of having to face them in the games, so I’m looking forward to seeing what they do best,” he said in a video released by the Qalandars on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Afridi and Rauf recently toured South Africa with the Pakistan team, but Rauf went wicketless in both the T20I and ODI series.
Afridi, however, enjoyed a lot more success, taking three wickets in two T20Is at an average of 19.66.
He then proceeded to claim seven wickets in three ODIs at an average of 23.28.
Both players were not selected for Pakistan’s two-Test series against South Africa and the West Indies.
However, they have been picked for the upcoming ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa, and the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be held from February 19 to March 9.
