Former West Indies pace bowler Ian Bishop has lauded Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan, saying he really is a fighter.
Rizwan is known for putting up gritty performances when the men in green find themselves in precarious situations.
Recently, the 32-year-old from Peshawar was in action in Pakistan’s two-Test series against the West Indies in Multan.
He finished the series as Pakistan’s highest run-scorer with 147 runs, which included a top score of 71, at an average of 36.75.
“Fighter if there really was one is Mohammad Rizwan,” Bishop, who is a well-known cricket commentator, was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Rizwan will now captain Pakistan in their ODI tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa.
Afterwards, he will lead the men in green in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be played from February 19 to March 9.
