Pakistan batsman Mohammad Haris is glad to be converting his starts into big scores as it was something that he was criticised for in the past.
Haris attributed his recent success to first-class cricket, saying it has helped him learn how to build an innings and not rush to reach milestones.
The 23-year-old recently featured in the Champions T20 Cup, where he amassed 269 runs in nine matches for the Stallions, which included three fifties, at an average of 33.62 and a strike-rate of 151.97.
“I give credit to first-class cricket, that is why now I take some time as well and score big runs instead of getting out in the twenties or thirties,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan recently toured Australia and triumphed 2-1 in the ODI series before suffering a 3-0 defeat in the T20Is.
They then went to Zimbabwe and came away with a 2-1 win in both the ODI and T20I series.
Currently, Pakistan are in South Africa and started the tour with a 2-0 loss in the T20Is before fighting back to claim a 3-0 victory in the ODIs.
The men in green and Proteas are now involved in a two-Test series, which got underway on December 26 in Centurion.
