Usman Khan: “Babar bhai and Rizwan bhai told me performance is important in international cricket and it will come”

Pakistan batsman Usman Khan has vowed to start putting up strong performances following a rather lacklustre start to his international career.
Usman acknowledged that Babar Azam and limited overs captain Mohammad Rizwan informed him about the importance of scoring runs regularly.
The 29-year-old has shown flashes of brilliance and made a number of promising starts, but he hasn’t been able to convert it into big scores consistently enough.
Despite this, he remains convinced that he will showcase his talent very soon.
“Babar bhai and Rizwan bhai told me performance is important in international cricket and it will come,” Usman was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
During Pakistan’s limited overs tour of Australia, Usman featured in three T20Is and amassed 59 runs, which included a career-best knock of 52, at an average of 19.66.
He then mustered 44 runs in three T20Is against Zimbabwe at an average of 22.
Most recently, he was involved in Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against South Africa, but failed to impress once again, mustering 12 runs in two games at an average of six.
Pakistan and South Africa are now playing a three-match ODI series, which the men in green lead 1-0 going into the 2nd ODI on December 19 in Cape Town.
Once the ODIs are done, the two teams will face each other in two Tests, which will get underway on December 26 in Centurion.
