Former England pacer Darren Gough has revealed that Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf is “obsessed by the speed gun”.

Rauf is right up there with Pakistan’s fastest bowlers as he has bowled at speeds over 150 kph before.

Aside from his blistering pace, the 31-year-old has numerous variations he utilises to get wickets, which is something he has been doing very well lately.

During Pakistan’s tour of Australia, he started off with 10 wickets in three ODIs, which included a five-wicket haul, at an average of 12.

In the three T20Is that followed, he continued his good run of form, taking five wickets at an average of 15.40.

The men in green travelled to Zimbabwe after their Australia tour and Rauf picked up three wickets in three ODIs at an average of 32.

He then proceeded to claim three wickets in two T20Is at an average of 10.

“He’s obsessed by the speed gun,” Gough, who was recently appointed as head coach of the Lahore Qalandars, told PakPassion.

Pakistan are now taking on South Africa in a T20I series, but Rauf has gone wicketless in the first two games.

The 3rd T20I will be held on December 15 in Johannesburg.

After the T20Is conclude, Pakistan and South Africa will play three ODIs and two Tests, which will start on December 17 and December 26 respectively.
