Former England captain Nasser Hussain has been very impressed with Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan, saying he has “got a fast bowler’s mentality as an off-spinner”.
His comments come after Sajid returned to the Test team midway through Pakistan’s recent three-match series against England.
Even though he only featured in the second and third Tests, the 31-year-old ripped England apart, taking 19 wickets, which included two five-wicket hauls, at an average of 21.10.
Sajid was one of the main reasons why Pakistan ended up winning 2-1, which was their first Test series win at home since 2021.
“I like Sajid Khan’s character too. He has got a bit about him, he’s got a bit of passion, wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s got a fast bowler’s mentality as an off-spinner,” Hussain was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan are now facing Australia in a white-ball series, which consists of three ODIs and three T20Is.
The men in green claimed their first ODI series win in Australia since 2002 after triumphing 2-1, while the T20I series is current 1-0 in Australia’s favour.
After this, Pakistan will tour Zimbabwe and play three ODIs and three T20Is from November 24 to December 5.
