Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt is excited about emerging power-hitter Abdul Samad as he has shown he can “hit sixes all around the ground”.
Samad has put up a number of strong performances in domestic cricket, including at the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a 50-over competition held in Faisalabad.
In six matches for the Markhors, he amassed 145 runs, which included a top score of 62, at an average of 24.16.
Following this, the 26-year-old from Faisalabad played for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) tournament and made 92 runs in four games at an average of 23.

Samad was not selected for Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, which they lost 2-0.
The men in green are now facing England in a three-match Test series, which is tied at 1-1.
The third Test got underway on October 24 in Rawalpindi.
