Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed believes the young trio of Mohammad Haris, Saad Baig and Rohail Nazir are good enough to play for the national team very soon.

Haris has already featured in six ODIs and nine T20Is to date, but last represented his country in September 2023.

Baig captains Pakistan’s Under-19 team and has shown encouraging signs as a batsman.

Nazir, meanwhile, has played three T20Is, all of which came during the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

“Mohammad Haris, Saad Baig and Rohail Nazir are there as well. These players have been performing consistently in domestic cricket, so I am hopeful they can represent Pakistan in future,” Sarfaraz was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Recently, Haris captained the Stallions in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a 50-over tournament held in Faisalabad.

In five games, he accumulated 113 runs, which included a top score of 55, at an average of 22.60.

Nazir represented the Lions and made 66 runs in two games, which included a top score of 62, at an average of 33.

After the Champions One-Day Cup, Baig and Nazir played for Khan Research Laboratories in the President’s Cup Grade-I (1-Day) competition, with the former mustering two runs in two games and the latter scoring 33 not out in one match.

The Pakistan team recently faced Bangladesh in a two-Test series and were whitewashed 2-0.

They are now taking on England in a three-match Test series, which is tied at 1-1.
