Former England batsman and renowned cricket commentator David Lloyd believes Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood is not as good as Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Misbah-ul-Haq.
Explaining why, Lloyd pointed out that Masood isn’t proactive enough, whereas the other legendary skippers Pakistan have had were more aggressive and knew what moves to make ahead of time.
He added that the 35-year-old does things more out of reaction rather than advanced planning.
“Shan Masood is a reactive captain, not a proactive captain. I have seen his captaincy for Yorkshire. He is not like Pakistan’s former captains Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Inzamam-ul-Haq, or Misbah-ul-Haq,” Lloyd was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Masood recently led Pakistan in their two-Test series against Bangladesh, which the men in green lost 2-0.
Following this, he featured in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a domestic 50-over competition that took place in Faisalabad.
Currently, he is captaining Pakistan in their three-Test series against England, which is tied at 1-1.
The third Test will get underway on October 24 in Rawalpindi.
