Asif Ali: “You will see so many Asif Ali, there is a lot of talent in Pakistan better than me”

Pakistan power-hitter Asif Ali said there are a lot of players in the country who are better than him right now.
Asif used to be one of Pakistan’s first-choice batsmen as he used to hold the finisher role in limited overs cricket.
However, the 33-year-old saw his opportunities dry up after failing to perform on a consistent basis and he has not played international cricket since October 2023.
“You will see so many Asif Ali, there is a lot of talent in Pakistan better than me,” he was quoted as saying by Khel Shel on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Faisalabad native wasn’t picked for Pakistan’s recent two-Test series against Bangladesh, which the men in green lost 2-0.
However, he did feature in the Champions One-Day Cup, a domestic 50-over tournament held in Faisalabad.
In four matches for the Dolphins, Asif scored 88 runs, which included a top score of 50, at an average of 22.
The Pakistan team will return to action next week when they take on England in a three-Test series from October 7 to 28 in Multan and Rawalpindi.
