Wasim Akram: “This generation doesn’t know how good he was”

Legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram believes the current generation doesn’t know how good opening batsman Saeed Anwar was.
Anwar is widely considered to be the best opener Pakistan ever produced as he possessed both style and grace, along with an aggressive style of play should the situation warrant it.
The 56-year-old from Karachi played 55 Tests and scored 4,052 runs, which included 11 hundreds and 25 fifties, at an average of 45.52.
He also amassed 8,824 runs in 247 ODIs, which included 20 centuries and 43 half-centuries, at an average of 39.21.
“This generation doesn’t know how good he was,” Wasim said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The Pakistan team recently faced Bangladesh in a two-match Test series and were beaten 2-0.
Many of the national players then took part in the Champions One-Day Cup, which was a domestic 50-over tournament held in Faisalabad.
Next up for Pakistan will be a three-Test series against England, which will take place from October 7 to 28 in Multan and Rawalpindi.
