Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has denied rumours of a rift between him and left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi.
The speculation started when Afridi was seen removing Masood’s hand from his shoulder during a team huddle.
However, Masood clarified that the 24-year-old was experiencing pain in his shoulder, which is the reason why he removed his hand.
“There was no fight with Shaheen Afridi. He was feeling pain in the shoulder, and unfortunately, I placed my hand on the same shoulder,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Masood and Afridi were recently involved in Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, with the former scoring 105 runs, which included a top score of 57, at an average of 26.25.
As for Afridi, he only played in the first Test and took two wickets at an average of 48.
Both of them are now featuring in the Champions One-Day Cup, which is a domestic 50-over tournament taking place in Faisalabad.
Next up for Pakistan will be a three-match Test series against England, which is set to be held from October 7 to 28.
