Bangladesh bowling coach Andre Adams has stressed how important it is to dismiss Pakistan batsman Babar Azam early since he is “a great player”.
Adams got the opportunity to watch the 29-year-old in action during the recent two-Test series in Rawalpindi, which Bangladesh won 2-0.
Azam failed to have an impact with the bat in both matches as he was restricted to 64 runs at an average of 16.
“Obviously, Babar is a great player and you have to be clear about what you want to do to get him out early,” Adams told The Daily Star as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam is now playing for the Stallions in the Champions One-Day Cup, which is a domestic 50-over tournament being held in Faisalabad, and has made scores of 76 and 45 in his first two games against the Lions and Markhors respectively.
Next up for Pakistan will be a three-match Test series against England, which is scheduled to take place from October 7 to 28.
