Red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie has urged the Pakistan batsmen to work on their shot selection as it is starting to become a thorn in the team’s side.

He noted that shot selection has been an ongoing issue that he has talked about and stressed the importance of picking the “right balls to attack”.

Gillespie’s plea for more sensible batting comes after the men in green were beaten 2-0 by Bangladesh in their Test series in Rawalpindi.

“Our shot selection is something that we continue to talk about. We just need to make sure that our batters choose the right balls to attack,” Gillespie was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan’s next assignment will be a three-match Test series against England, which is set to take place from October 7 to 28.
