Basit Ali: “Just stop batting in the nets. You score all your runs in the nets, what will you do in the match? You don’t play where you need to bat for two hours, but you play for two hours in the nets. Just do skipping and knocking in practice”

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has brutally ripped into Babar Azam, saying he scores all his runs while batting in the nets.
Basit’s criticism comes after Azam failed to impress in the recent two-Test series against Bangladesh.
The 29-year-old, who has long been Pakistan’s most consistent run-scorer, only managed to muster 64 runs at an average of 16.
With the men in green losing 2-0 to Bangladesh, Basit told Azam to “stop batting in the nets” as his runs are drying up when he is playing in actual matches.
“Just stop batting in the nets. You score all your runs in the nets, what will you do in the match? You don’t play where you need to bat for two hours, but you play for two hours in the nets. Just do skipping and knocking in practice,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Sports Tak.
Pakistan’s next assignment will see them take on England in a three-match Test series, which is scheduled to be played from October 7 to 28.
