Former Pakistan fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed has slammed the pace trio of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah and Khurram Shahzad, saying they look as if they’re 35 years old.
All three bowlers recently featured in Pakistan’s two-Test series against Bangladesh, which the men in green lost 2-0.
Afridi and Naseem only played in the first Test, taking two wickets at an average of 48 and three wickets at 33.33 respectively.
As for Shahzad, he was Pakistan’s highest wicket-taker in the series with nine victims across both Tests at an average of 24.44.
Despite Shahzad’s strong performance, Tanvir was neither impressed with him nor Afridi and Naseem.
“Naseem Shah 21 years old. Shaheen Afridi 24 years old. Khurram Shazhad 24 years old. Aesa lagta ha 35 years kay fast bowler’s lag rahe hain. (They look like 35-year-old pacers),” he said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Pakistan’s next assignment will be a three-match Test series against England, which will take place from October 7 to 28.
