Ollie Pope: “Going into that Pakistan series and then into New Zealand, he’s going to be as fresh as anyone”

England batsman Ollie Pope has warned Pakistan that captain and all-rounder Ben Stokes will “be as fresh as anyone” going into their three-Test series in October.
Stokes was ruled out of England’s ongoing three-match Test series against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring tear, but is expected to make a full recovery before his side tour Pakistan and New Zealand.
Given how dangerous the 33-year-old is, Pope, who is currently serving as England’s stand-in captain, knows he will be itching to have an immediate impact upon returning.
“Going into that Pakistan series and then into New Zealand, he’s going to be as fresh as anyone,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan recently faced Bangladesh in a two-Test series and despite playing both matches on home soil in Rawalpindi, they ended up losing 2-0.
