Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi said he priorities the country first and then the national team before thinking about himself.

He noted that he puts his own needs last as the other two are more important to the Pakistan team succeeding in international cricket.

“For me, Pakistan comes first. Then the team, and then me,” the 24-year-old was quoted as saying by A Sports.

Afridi recently represented Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he took five wickets in four matches at an average of 21 and an economy rate of 6.56.

The men in green lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to beat Canada and Ireland.

However, those two victories went in vain as Pakistan were eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.

Next up for Afridi will be Pakistan’s two-match Test series against Bangladesh, which will be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi from August 21 to September 3.
