Up-and-coming Pakistan batsman Saad Baig said he would love to be the type of captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was when he was in charge of the national team.

Baig led the Pakistan Under-19 team in the Under-19 World Cup at the beginning of 2024 and admitted that he had learned a lot from the 37-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman.

The 17-year-old added that Sarfaraz has given him a lot of advice and constantly backs him, which boosts his confidence.

“I learned a lot from him; he always backs me. After the World Cup, he taught me a lot and gave me advice. So, as a captain, I like him very much. I like a bit of aggressiveness on the field, which he has, and I also want to be a captain like him and lead my team to victory,” Baig was quoted as saying by A Sports.

The Pakistan team recently featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they failed to make it out of the group stage.
