Pakistan big-hitter Iftikhar Ahmed said difficult pitches shouldn’t stop batsmen from performing at their best.

He noted that in order to excel in all types of conditions, it is important to practice and keep getting better.

Knowing how important his role is, the 33-year-old from Peshawar acknowledged that he has to keep delivering for Pakistan.

“Difficult pitches don’t stop you from performing. You need to practice accordingly and deliver for your team no matter how tough the conditions are,” he was quoted as saying by journalist Farid Khan on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Iftikhar was recently in action in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he only managed to muster 23 runs in two matches at an average of 11.50 and a strike-rate of 100.

Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India before claiming consolation wins over Canada and Ireland.

Next up for the men in green will be a two-Test series against Bangladesh, which will be held in Rawalpindi and Karachi from August 21 to September 3.
