Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad admitted to being in awe of the way Pakistan left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir bowls with the new ball.

He noted that Amir gets plenty of movement and bowls absolute jaffas, which either causes the opposition batsmen plenty of trouble or gets them out.

The 32-year-old from Gujar Khan reversed his decision to retire from international cricket to represent Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where he took seven wickets in four matches at an average of 10.28 and an economy rate of 4.50.

“I thought Mohammad Amir was amazing with the new ball. He bowled some jaffas and the way he moved the ball,” Broad was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India in the T20 World Cup before fighting back to defeat Canada and Ireland.

Even though they won their last two group stage games, the men in green ended up being eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
