Pakistan pace bowler Hasan Ali admitted that when former team director Mohammad Hafeez told players not to sleep in the dressing room, everyone stopped doing it as they “didn’t want to be fined”.

Hafeez recently expressed his frustration at the fact that national players were falling asleep in the pavilion during international matches.

He felt this was unacceptable and Hasan acknowledged that all the players got the message loud and clear when the 43-year-old former all-rounder told them not to do it.

“Once Hafeez bhai told everyone no sleeping in the dressing room, nobody slept, as they didn’t want to be fined,” he was quoted as saying by respected journalist Saj Sadiq on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Hasan wasn’t part of Pakistan’s squad for the recent 2024 T20 World Cup, where the men in green lost to the United States of America and India before rebounding to beat Canada and Ireland.

Despite ending the group stage on a high, Pakistan were unable to book their spot in the Super Eights.
