Legendary spinner Mushtaq Ahmed said Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has a “big heart” as he is an incredibly selfless cricketer.
Rizwan has been Pakistan’s second-most consistent run-scorer in all three formats after limited overs captain Babar Azam.
The 32-year-old from Peshawar has not only delivered big performances at pivotal moments, but he has also carried the men in green across the finish line on multiple occasions.
“A big man has a big heart, and this is seen in Rizwan’s character,” Mushtaq told Cricket Pakistan.
Rizwan recently played in the 2024 T20 World Cup and was Pakistan’s second-highest run-scorer with 110 runs in four matches, which included a top score of 53 not out, at an average of 36.66 and a strike-rate of 90.90.
The men in green lost to the United States of America and India before rebounding to beat Canada and Ireland.
Despite triumphing in their last two group stage games, Pakistan were unable to book their spot in the Super Eights.
