Saud Shakeel, the middle order batsman, has called Pakistan limited overs captain Babar Azam a “world-class player.”
He added that in addition to being one of the best in the game, Azam is also one of his favourite players to bat with as it is “great fun” to see him in action.
The Pakistan skipper has earned his reputation as one of the elite cricketers in the world by being Pakistan’s most consistent run-scorer across all three formats for the past few years.
“It is great fun when batting with Babar Azam, he’s a world-class player,” Shakeel told Cricwick.
Azam recently led Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and was the team’s highest run-scorer with 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
The men in green lost to the United States of America and India before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.
Despite ending the group stage on a high, Pakistan could not progress to the Super Eights.
