Andy Flower said Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood was in the “strongest condition” in T20 cricket in 2023.
The former Multan Sultans head coach praised the 34-year-old after his solid performance for the franchise in the 2023 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Masood amassed 236 runs in nine matches, which included two fifties, at an average of 26.22 and a strike-rate of 124.86.
In PSL 9 in 2024, he finished with 158 runs in 10 games at an average of 15.80 and a strike-rate of 105.33.
“[He] is in the strongest condition I’ve seen [him in] in T20 cricket this year (2023),” Flower told ESPNcricinfo.
Masood was not part of Pakistan’s team for the 2024 T20 World Cup, where the men in green lost to the United States of America and India before rebounding to defeat Canada and Ireland,
Despite winning those two matches, they failed to progress to the Super Eights.
