Parthiv Patel: “When your captain is selfish, then there is no chance. They have a very weak team now. Look at the team they used to have. This is the weakest Pakistan team”

Former India wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel has slammed Pakistan limited overs captain Babar Azam, calling him “selfish”.
He noted that as long as Azam remains self-centred, the men in green will remain “a very weak team”.
In fact, Patel went as far as saying that “this is the weakest Pakistan team” he has seen.
His criticism of Azam and the national team comes after Pakistan endured a disastrous campaign in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to beat Canada and Ireland.
Despite winning those two games, they were eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
“When your captain is selfish, then there is no chance. They have a very weak team now. Look at the team they used to have. This is the weakest Pakistan team. They don’t match the T20 format. In an era where strike-rates of 150-160 are crucial, their players are stuck at 120,” Patel was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
It should be noted that Azam was Pakistan’s highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup with 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
