Rashid Latif: “PCB should’ve groomed him like Gill and Jaiswal. You discard players very quickly. The problem is from [the] management’s side, not the players”

Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has blasted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not grooming big-hitting batsman Haider Ali just like India did with Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Latif noted that Haider showed incredible talent and could have lived up to his tag as Pakistan’s next big thing.
However, the 23-year-old failed to score runs consistently and was subsequently removed from the team.
Instead of putting the blame on Haider, Latif directed it towards the team management and the PCB, saying they “discard players very quickly”.
“PCB should’ve groomed him like Gill and Jaiswal. You discard players very quickly. The problem is from [the] management’s side, not the players,” he told ProSports as quoted by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Haider was not involved in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India before fighting back to take down Canada and Ireland.
Even though they ended the group stage with a 2-2 record, it was not enough to see them through to the Super Eights.
