Pakistan left-arm spinner Imad Wasim said the team used to “rule in T20 cricket”, but conceded that the men in green have “moved back a little now”.
His comments come after the 2024 T20 World Cup, where Pakistan failed to make it out of the group stage.
Imad featured in the tournament after reversing his decision to retire from international cricket earlier this year.
In three games, the 35-year-old took three wickets at an average of 14.66 and an economy rate of four.
With the men in green having performed extremely poorly, Imad conceded that the team’s batting, bowling and fielding mentality must change.
“We used to rule in T20 cricket. I think we have moved back a little now. Maybe our mindset [needs a change] – in all three areas,” he was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.
Pakistan kicked off their campaign with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.
