Ahmed Shehzad: “Babar Azam should step on the field with a fearless attitude and the entire team should follow him”

Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad said white-ball captain Babar Azam should play with a “fearless attitude” and the rest of the team “should follow him”.
Azam has been Pakistan’s most consistent run-scorer for the past few years, but his captaincy has been a hotly debated topic once again, especially after the men in green’s disastrous campaign in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India before rebounding to triumph over Canada and Ireland.
Despite this, they ended up being eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
Going forward, Shehzad wants Azam to put all his fears aside and adopt a new lionhearted mentality and approach that will help Pakistan win matches.
“Babar Azam should step on the field with a fearless attitude and the entire team should follow him,” he said on Geo News show Haarna Mana Hay.
It should be noted that Azam was Pakistan’s top run-scorer in the T20 World Cup with 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
