Ahmed Shehzad: “You have hallucinated people by scoring runs against B, C and D teams”

Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad said limited overs captain Babar Azam has fooled people into thinking he is an elite cricketer as he only scores runs against “B, C and D teams”.
Azam has been Pakistan’s most consistent run-scorer in all three formats for a few years and has repeatedly won games for the men in green.
However, Shehzad feels if people were to take a closer look at the 29-year-old’s big scores, they would find that many of them have come against weaker opposition.
“You have hallucinated people by scoring runs against B, C and D teams,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam recently led Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and made 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
The men in green started off with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to defeat Canada and Ireland.
Even though they finished the group stage on a high, they failed to make it through to the Super Eights.
