Saleem Malik: “You look at his (Imad) innings and it appears as if he was wasting balls, not scoring runs and making things difficult in the run chase”

Former Pakistan batsman Saleem Malik has accused spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim of deliberately “wasting balls” during the 2024 T20 World Cup match against India.
India and Pakistan faced each other on June 9 in New York and it was the men in blue who emerged victorious by six runs despite defending a small total of 120.
During the run chase, Imad scored 15 runs off 23 balls, which included one boundary.
Even though he was Pakistan’s second-highest run-scorer in the match, Malik was less than impressed with his effort.
“You look at his (Imad) innings and it appears as if he was wasting balls, not scoring runs and making things difficult in the run chase,” Malik told 24 News channel as quoted by The Economic Times.
The men in green started their campaign with back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India before rebounding to beat Canada and Ireland.
However, those victories went in vain as they were eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
