Kamran Akmal: “No doubt, Babar is the number one batter in the world”

Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has crowned limited overs captain Babar Azam as the number one batsman in the world.
Azam has long been Pakistan’s most consistent run-scorer in all three formats and has repeatedly won the team matches on his own.
In the 2024 T20 World Cup, the 29-year-old led by example once again, scoring 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
“No doubt, Babar is the number one batter in the world,” Akmal said on his YouTube channel as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
Pakistan started their T20 World Cup campaign with consecutive losses to the United States of America and India before picking up wins over Canada and Ireland.
Despite finishing the group stage with a 2-2 record, the men in green failed to book their spot in the Super Eights.
