Sarfraz Nawaz: “I am surprised that you are choosing only two all-rounders: Shadab and Imad. If you think having just two all-rounders is enough, then the team cannot run like this”

Former Pakistan pace bowler Sarfraz Nawaz believes the national team must find more all-rounders, noting that the current duo of Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim is nowhere near enough.
Shadab has been woefully out of form with the ball as of late as he hasn’t taken any wickets since Pakistan’s T20I series against New Zealand in April 2024.
As for Imad, he has contributed well with the ball, but been underwhelming with the bat.
Since they are the only proper all-rounders in the squad, Nawaz conceded that the men in green need more options to pick from.
“I am surprised that you are choosing only two all-rounders: Shadab and Imad. If you think having just two all-rounders is enough, then the team cannot run like this,” he told Cricket Pakistan.
In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Shadab failed to take any wickets in four matches and didn’t even bowl in Pakistan’s games against India and Canada.
As for Imad, he picked up three wickets in three matches at an average of 14.66 and an economy rate of four.
The men in green lost to the United States of America and India before rebounding to take down Canada and Ireland.
Despite claiming two wins in the group stage, it was not enough to earn them a spot in the Super Eights.
