Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi: “I’ve always been a bowler who bowled 136-140 kph at the start, and I’m still doing so. When a bowler picks up wickets, everyone speaks well, but when he doesn’t, all the negative things are said”

Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi doesn’t want people criticising his bowling speed, saying he has always bowled around 140 kph and is still doing so to this day.
Afridi had a noticeable dip in pace late last year and earlier this year, but he has seemingly sorted out the problem.
The 24-year-old has also pleaded for consistent support, saying people shouldn’t criticise and say negative things about him or any other player when they go through a rough patch.
“I’ve always been a bowler who bowled 136-140 kph at the start, and I’m still doing so. When a bowler picks up wickets, everyone speaks well, but when he doesn’t, all the negative things are said,” he was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Afridi recently featured in the 2024 T20 World Cup and took five wickets in four matches at an average of 21 and an economy rate of 6.56.
Pakistan began their campaign with consecutive losses to the United States of America and India before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.
Despite winning those games, the men in green were eliminated in the group stage of the competition.
