Wasim Akram: “They have been playing cricket for 10 years, and I can’t teach them. Rizwan has no game awareness”

Legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has ripped wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan apart for having “no game awareness”.
Wasim was particularly upset with Rizwan’s dismissal in Pakistan’s clash against India in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Rizwan was on 31 when he was clean bowled by India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah in the 15th over of the match. This proved to be the turning point of the game as Pakistan ended up losing by six runs.
Wasim noted that the 32-year-old should have been smarter when batting and noted that he can’t teach him how to play cricket.
“They have been playing cricket for 10 years, and I can’t teach them. Rizwan has no game awareness,” he told Star Sports as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
Rizwan scored 110 runs in four T20 World Cup matches, which included a top score of 53 not out, at an average of 36.66 and a strike-rate of 90.90.
Pakistan lost their first two games against the United States of America and India before bouncing back to take down Canada and Ireland.
Despite this, they ended up being eliminated in the group stage of the competition.
