Former Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq has blamed part of the team’s struggles in ICC World Cups on limited overs captain Babar Azam, saying he has not been able to perform well.
His comments come after the men in green were eliminated in the group stage of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Azam was Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in the tournament with 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
Nonetheless, Misbah expects more from Pakistan’s frontline batsman and feels he can’t keep flopping in such competitions as they are the pinnacle events of international cricket.

In the T20 World Cup, Pakistan lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to beat Canada and Ireland.
