Legendary Pakistan batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq has urged white-ball captain Babar Azam and the rest of the team to “sit down and think about the kind of cricket they are playing”.
His comments come after the men in green endured a disastrous campaign in the 2024 T20 World Cup, where they lost to the United States of America and India before bouncing back to beat Canada and Ireland.
Looking at the state of the team right now, Inzamam conceded that it is crashing and burning.
“Babar Azam and company should sit down and think about the kind of cricket they are playing. But, looking at our cricket and selection, I think our cricket is headed towards downfall,” he said on his YouTube channel as quoted by A Sports.
In the T20 World Cup, Azam amassed 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
Even though Pakistan finished with a 2-2 record in the group stage, they failed to qualify for the Super Eights.
