Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt said it is “not possible” for current skipper Babar Azam to “dance like Michael Jackson”.
Salman made the analogy while stressing that each individual player in the Pakistan team has their own unique role that they must fulfil.
Azam’s is to be the backbone of the batting line-up and score runs consistently, which is something the men in green have become reliant on.
“Now, if you want Babar to dance like Michael Jackson and sing like Noor Jahan, that’s not possible,” Salman was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
Azam recently captained Pakistan in the 2024 T20 World Cup and had a solid campaign with the bat, scoring 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
The men in green lost their opening two games against the United States of America and India before fighting back to take down Canada and Ireland.
However, it didn’t prove to be enough as they were eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
