Shahid Afridi: “The entire team should support Babar, especially the seniors, and the captain should be fearless while taking decisions”

Legendary Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi said everyone needs to support limited overs captain Babar Azam.
Azam is currently in his second stint as captain, having been given control of the ODI and T20I squads in March 2024.
Even though the 29-year-old has failed to get the results expected, Afridi urged him to keep making fearless decisions and doing his best to lead the men in green to victory.
“The entire team should support Babar, especially the seniors, and the captain should be fearless while taking decisions,” he said on the PCB Podcast as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
In the 2024 T20 World Cup, Azam amassed 122 runs in four matches at an average of 40.66 and a strike-rate of 101.66.
Pakistan lost their first two games against the United States of America and India before triumphing over Canada and Ireland.
Despite concluding the group stage with a 2-2 record, they failed to qualify for the Super Eights.
