Former India speedster Irfan Pathan acknowledged Pakistan have a strong bowling attack, pointing out that spinner Imad Wasim can be utilised in the powerplay since he “bowls well” during that period.

Imad reversed his decision to retire from international cricket after the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He subsequently made his comeback in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand and took one wicket in two games at an average of 37 and an economy rate of 7.40.

After that, he featured in the three-match T20I series against Ireland and claimed two wickets at an average of 36 and an economy rate of 7.20.

“Even Imad Wasim bowls well in the powerplay,” Pathan was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan are now playing a four-match T20I series against England and in the second match, Imad finished with figures of 2-19 off his four overs.

Following the England series, the men in green will participate in the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be held in the West Indies and United States of America from June 1 to 29.

Pakistan’s first T20 World Cup game will be against the United States of America in Dallas on June 6.
