Pakistan limited overs head coach Gary Kirsten has praised captain Babar Azam, wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan and the pace duo of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, saying they have become “household names”.
Kirsten admitted he is excited to work with the quartet and ensure they keep giving their best going forward.
Additionally, he aims to find more players in the country who can be as successful as Azam, Rizwan, Afridi and Rauf.
“We [are] finding the best players that we have in Pakistan and working with them. You know your household names – your Babar Azam, your Mohammad Rizwan, your Shaheen Afridi, your Haris Rauf. All these guys have been around the circuit for a long time. I’m looking forward to understanding what makes them tick and how I can help them to be the best versions of themselves going forward. That is going to be of benefit to the national team,” he said on the PCB Podcast.
The Pakistan team recently played a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which ended as a 2-2 draw.
They then played three T20Is against Ireland and managed to secure a 2-1 win.
