Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has expressed his gratitude to limited overs captain Babar Azam and fellow left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi for their continual support.
Amir recently made his international comeback in the five-match T20I series against New Zealand and took three wickets in four games at an average of 28.66 and an economy rate of 8.32.
The 32-year-old admitted that he feels under pressure to deliver, but conceded that he is buoyed by the fact that Azam and Afridi constantly have his back.
“When you represent your country, the feeling is indescribable. There was definitely pressure, especially since I was returning after a four-year break. I owe it to the team, especially Shaheen and Babar, for the support and confidence they provided during my comeback,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Amir was part of Pakistan’s squad for the three-match T20I series against Ireland and picked up two wickets in two games at an average of 38 and an economy rate of 9.50.
The men in green will now play four T20Is against England from May 22 to May 30.
