Mir Hamza said fellow Pakistan left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi’s best quality is his ability to read the “match situation very quickly.”
Afridi is Pakistan’s pace spearhead in all three formats and regularly delivers early wickets for the men in green, which has earned him a reputation of being one of the best new ball bowlers in the world.
Given how rapidly a game can change, Hamza admitted it is highly impressive to see how the 24-year-old adapts almost immediately.
“Shaheen’s quality is that he reads the match situation very quickly,” he told Cricket Pakistan.
Afridi recently played in Pakistan’s five-match T20I series against New Zealand and took eight wickets in four games at an average of 10 and an economy rate of 7.38.
He will now feature in the three-match T20I series against Ireland from May 10 to 14.
After that, Pakistan and England will play four T20Is from May 22 to May 30.
