Powerful Pakistan batsman Khushdil Shah has expressed his determination to reclaim his spot in the ODI team.
The 29-year-old used to be one of the go-to finishers in limited overs cricket, but last played an ODI for the men in green back in August 2022.
Khushdil recently played for the Multan Sultans in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL) and amassed 68 runs in 10 matches at an average of 17 and a strike-rate of 128.30.
He also took four wickets at an average of 25.50 and an economy rate of 7.11.
“I’ve experienced the disappointment of being dropped from the ODI team on the basis of my T20 performances. Nonetheless, I take pride in receiving the POTM (Player of the Match) award in my last ODI outing. I’m striving to reclaim my spot in the team,” the Bannu native was quoted as saying by PakPassion on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Khushdil wasn’t picked for Pakistan’s recent five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which finished as a 2-2 draw.
