South Africa batsman Rassie van der Dussen admitted he was highly impressed with emerging Pakistan all-rounder Jahandad Khan’s performance in the 2024 Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The 35-year-old played alongside Jahandad for the Lahore Qalandars and pointed out the impact the 20-year-old had with the bat, ball, and in the field.
The Rawalpindi-born cricketer scored 88 runs in nine matches, which included a top score of 45 not out, at an average of 22 and a strike-rate of 187.23.
He also took five wickets at an average of 45.20 and an economy rate of 9.82.
“He came in and played like he’s been playing PSL for years. Just impact right from the start with both bat and ball and in the field as well,” Van der Dussen told PakPassion.
Even though the Qalandars only won one out of the 10 games they played, Van der Dussen was one of their standout players as he was the fourth-highest run-scorer in PSL 9 with 364 runs in seven matches, which included a century and three fifties, at an average of 72.80 and a strike-rate of 154.89.
